Hello,
I hope I don't get into trouble for what I'm about to post, but here we go:
A pal sent me this crossover story on Fanfiction.net, "Don't Look Away". Basically, it's "Blink", but set up as a crossover between Who and Code Lyoko (those of you who don't know, it's this 2000s cult French sci-fi adventure cartoon, labour of love, about a group of schoolchildren who discover a supercomputer in an abandoned factory at Paris's Ile Seguin region, populated by a mysterious girl, and an evil sentient computer virus known only as XANA, which seeks to conquer the world).
It basically adapts "Blink" for a crossover set, changing things around:
Aelita (pink-haired girl in the supercomputer) takes the place of Sally
Odd (blond boy, spiky hair, purple dress sense) and Jeremy (blond boy, glasses, effective leader) jointly take the place of Larry
The Hermitage (the house where Aelita and her parents used to live before Lyoko and XANA were created) takes the place of Wester Drumlins
Five Weeping Angels, not four, are the villains
Although the 10th Doctor appears, Martha never gets referenced; there is no indication that anyone is with him
An original character called Kamal takes the place of Billy
I know Who has had a history of adapting material for its own ends ("Robot" = King Kong, "A Christmas Carol" = speaks for itself, "The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe" = The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe), but...well, does anyone know of instances where the reverse has happened, where a Who plot or something has been adapted for something else? And what do you think of the idea in general? I can also put a link to "Don't Look Away" if anyone's interested, but I'm not trying to promote it.
