”You said you wanted an axe fight.” *guitar riff* -12th Doctor
• “Wot?” -Rose Tyler
• “Hey! Who turned out the lights?” -Proper Dave
Not as good as Deep Breath for me, but still a solid episode. Sets up some background for Twice Upon a Time too.
Please comment if you agree or disagree and give ur rankings.
Into the Dalek:
Capaldi: 7.5/10 - Not too bad but he kind of just explains everything, but i like his interactions with some of the shipmates
Companion: 7/10 - Not brilliant, but still has some of that Clara quirk we all enjoy.
Other Characters: Danny's debut gives me a good impression of him. Whilst I don't personally like Danny as a character, I think Samuel Anderson gives a great performance here. Also, the shipmates are somewhat interesting 8/10
Plot: Not brilliant tbh. Just a Dalek filler, that involves the Doctor miniturized and climbing around inside a Dalek, turning him good. 5/10
Main enemy: Who even is the main enemy here? Is it Rusty? Or the Daleks Rusty attacks? Idk. 4/10
Legacy: Introduces Danny and Rusty, both of whom are relevant for later on in the plot of 12s journey. 7/10
Total - 38.5/50
Overall rankings so far:
1) Deep Breath
2) Into the Dalek
I have realised that I LOVE Peter Capaldi and his episodes as the Doctor. So I thought I’d rank them.
I saw Laura Batham’s review of a lot of the Classic Sotries so I decided every so often I would post about one of Peter Capaldi’s episodes and rank them based on his performance, the companions performance, side characters, plot and the main enemy and legacy.
Deep Breath
Comment your views
The Doctor:
This was his sort of dazed post-regeneration moment and he did well. Loved the stuff with the tramp (these are attack eyebrows) Although it did drag on a bit 8/10
Clara:
Amazing from Jenna Coleman. The whole holding your breath thing lead to lots of moments for her to engage with the robots. 9/10
Other Characters:
Always a pleasure to see the Paternoster Gang. Strax particularly. The kiss scene was alright but a bit random. No one ear really existed other than the tramp, who also improves the score a bit. It was a nice surprise to see Matt Smith! 8/10
Plot
A nice unexpected return of the Clockwork Droids. Stuff like the holding your breath and the mystery around the Advert and the Promised land were cool. The whole dinosaur thing was nice but not strictly necessary to the plot, the Big Bad died off a bit lacklustrely and the whole promised land thing was not a good end goal. 7/10
Enemies:
The Clockwork Droids were cool, but the Half Face Man was pretty creepy and even though he died weirdly it was a good first villain. 8/10
Legacy:
No plot significance other than Missy’s introduction, but it is always remembered as a good opening story for me. It was a nice surprise to see Matt SmithWhat about you all? 7/10
Overall - 47/60
So what do you think then? Next post coming tomorrow

You will never beat the doctor when hes playing the electric guitar while riding a tank in the middle ages.

I added the guitar because of that one time peter's doctor played the guitar while coming on a tank
Share some feedback on it! This is one of my first song remixes!
Christopher Eccleston
Our Friends in the North (1996, clips)
* For as long as I can remember we've had the DVD box set in our house, but amazingly I've still not fully seen any of it. Alongside a pre-A-list Daniel Craig.
Gone in 60 Seconds (2000, clips)
28 Days Later (2002, clips)
Thor: the Dark World (2013)
* I'm not a big fan of the MCU, even in its early days, and although this film is far from the worst of them, it's easy to forget that Eccleston was in it, since he's totally unrecognisable. He had a miserable time too, spending more time in make-up than he did on set.
The A Word (2016-2020)
Casualty (1990 episode)
Dodger (2022 episode)
Macbeth (2018)
Antigone (2012, clips)
* With Jodie Whittaker.
David Tennant
Rab C. Nesbitt (1993 episode, clips)
* Perhaps alarmingly, he plays a trans woman (Davina) in this, but he does it with beautiful sensitivity. And he genuinely looks unbelievable.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Good Omens (2019-)
* This is one of my favourite shows on TV at the moment. When it doesn't work it's tough, because it tends to be the whole episode that fails, but generally it's excellent.
Hamlet (2008)
Des (2020)
Staged (2020-2022)
* A not exactly hilarious remote sitcom notable for being probably the only thing he's been in with his wife, with the possible exception of The Five-ish Doctors.
Broadchurch (2013-2017)
Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger
* Don't ask.
Matt Smith
The Ruby in the Smoke (2006)
Bert and Dickie (2012)
Last Night in Soho (2021, clips)
The Crown (2016, clips)
* Being a Brit myself, I've never found the royal family anything but boring and wasteful. So I've never really found time to watch this, although from what I've read the only good bits are made up anyway.
Peter Capaldi
The Thick of It (2005-2012)
In the Loop (2009)
The Devil's Hour (2022)
* This is neither as good nor as scary as you'd think, with such a great cast and premise, but it's still kind of interesting.
The Vicar of Dibley (1994 or 1996)
Paddington (2014, clips)
Jodie Whittaker
Black Mirror (2011 episode)
Broadchurch (2013-2017)
* If you haven't watched it yet, do. And do not look up any spoilers. Amazing series.
Venus (2006, clips)
St. Trinian's (2007, clips)
Time (2023, clips)
Trust Me (2017, clips)
Antigone (2012)
Ncuti Gatwa
Sex Education (2019- clips)
* Yep, never seen a full episode. So I had absolutely no idea who Ncuti was when he was cast, only that he was very handsome. He's still very handsome, but fortunately I now know he's a brilliant actor too.

What for you is Peter Capaldi’s defining moment as the doctor?
I would have to go with “I am an idiot” speech from death in heaven. It’s a great moment that started that transition from the overly grumpy unlikable 12th doctor to the more stern, but laid-back 12th doctor and it’s such a funny moment too.
You can use your own definition of “definitive” but I’m curious what people think since a lot of people have been talking about Ncuti Gatwa’s “definitive moment” lately. (We’ll get to him later😉)
"This is not a war, I have fought in a bigger war then u will ever know, I did worse things that u could ever imagine and when I close my eyes.. I hear more screams than anyone could ever be able to count"
- Sorry if I got this wrong
