A solid series finale with lots of good things, but I just can't ignore how heartbreaking Donna's goodbye was. Her losing her memories and everything that comes with them is incredibly sad, and her last words to the Doctor being a distracted "see you" really hammers in the fact that it is the Doctor's loss just as much as hers.

In Victory of the Daleks when the New Paradigm Daleks threaten to destroy the Earth using Proffesor Bracewell. The Doctor chooses to save the Earth, but he didn't have too.
The Daleks threats were empty, they couldn't destroy the Earth in 1941 because the events of The Stolen Earth/ Journeys End in 2009 would never had occured. Had the Dalek fleet not been annihilated, the New Paradigm would never have existed.

I got my friend into Doctor Who a few months ago and I’ve been watching most of the episodes with her and I love watching her reactions to the episodes. Like, we were watching the Stolen Earth the other night and we had to stop at the beginning of Journey’s End- just enough to see he had regenerated into himself but not enough to see why, and she was like “what the heck?!?! I thought he was regenerating??? What’s happening?” And I just love watching her reactions to stuff like that
As in, what if the Doctor and Rose's running reunion in the street at the end of "The Stolen Earth" wasn't interrupted by the Dalek? Or alternately, what if Rose and the Doctor were slightly slower, enough that Jack was able to show up and shoot the Dalek before it could shoot the Doctor? Or if Rose remembered she had a big gun on her and shot the Dalek herself before getting to the Doctor? How would that change "Journey's End" if there wasn't a Metacrisis or for that matter a DoctorDonna? Would Rose become Bad Wolf 2.0 to defeat Davros or something else?
