What’s everyone’s thoughts on The Giggle (the 60th Anniversary Special)?
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Neil Patrick Harris looked like he was having a blast and there were so many call backs and references to past episodes and companions that made it feel so much fun and special as well.
Also I’m very glad it’s on Disney Plus. I just wish they had all the episodes from 2005 onwards but I cant complain. For once.
But what did you think?
Spoiler warning since this discussion post will likely provoke people to bring up what has happened in recent episodes, as well as potentially correctly predict what will happen in the finale.
So, recent episodes and specials like "The Giggle" and "The Devil's Chord" have been teasing this big villain of the season who is connected to The Toymaker and his child, Maestro. They are presumably part of the same pantheon that these two are in. There are all these mentions and offhanded references to them, and we know that they have a connection to Ruby Sunday.
People have brought up many potential candidates for who it could turn out to be, including Sutekh, Fenric, Omega, The Beast, The Master, The Trickster, Davros, and even the Doctor's own granddaughter, Susan. XD
Of course, it could always be a completely new and original character.
But go on, everyone. Just for fun, speculate who you think it might be, and give your reasons why.

The 15th Doctor will return in Doctor Who 2024 Season 1, obviously.
The 14th Doctor is on Earth with his TARDIS, Donna, her family and Mel Bush.
Some of the Doctor Who fans say there's gonna be a Doctor Who spin-off of the 14th Doctor, which to me would be fantastic!
What about the Meta-Crisis Doctor?
I'd love to see the 14th Doctor and 15th Doctor team up together to save the day in the future!

The Giggle is my favourite Doctor Who 2023 60th anniversary special because of the Bi-generation, and the Toymaker.
I'm happy for the Bi-generation because I didn't want to go through David Tennant regenerating again, not after The End of Time, and it made things EASY to save the day!
So the 14th Doctor regenerated into a form near-identical to the 10th Doctor as a subconscious sign to "come home" and rest. That's nice.
After The Giggle, this leads us to wonder: what's gonna happen with the 14th Doctor now?
Some fans say there's gonna be a Doctor Who Spin-Off, which I don't know.
Let's wait and see, which I can't wait.
Now we all know the Master will return, if the Master is gonna bi-generates too, there's gonna be MORE than one Master fight the MORE than one Doctor, which will be AWESOME!
Even if it does happen, I hope to see the 14th Doctor and 15th Doctor team up to fight two Masters!
Having the 13th Doctor, 14th Doctor and 15th Doctor fight the Saxon Master, Missy and the Spy Master would be WAY AWESOME!
I would want the Saxon Master to return.
I hope the 11th Doctor does return after we last saw him in Deep Breath.

The Thirteenth Doctor would later regenerate into an incarnation who looked virtually identical to the Tenth Doctor, due to the Doctor's deteriorating mental state and subconscious need to take a break.
Aware of the Doctor's emotional exhaustion, Donna Noble suggested that the Doctor had subconsciously adopted his old appearance again to find her and "come home".
After undergoing a bi-generation that created the Fifteenth Doctor and defeating the Toymaker, the Fourteenth Doctor settled into a life of rehab on Earth with his TARDIS, Donna, her family and Mel Bush.

Research:
When the Toymaker confronted the Doctor, he told him, "I made a jigsaw out of your history".
The Toymaker claimed that he had rewritten the Doctor's past into a "jigsaw puzzle."
The Toymaker later implied that he had a hand in creating the history of the Timeless Child and the Fugitive Doctor, as he claimed to have turned the Doctor 's past into a "jigsaw puzzle".
In the in-vision commentary for The Giggle, Russell T Davies says that the Toymaker's line about making a "jigsaw" out of the Doctor's history is "part of the loosening of the rules. The Doctor first - you know, was he half human when he was Paul McGann? You know, is he a Timeless Child? It just relaxes the rules to say he is whoever you want him to be. That could be the Toymaker's puzzle. That could be inferred, or it's all true, and it is all true, but it just opens up the canon a bit, you know?" When asked by SFX magazine if he would be retconning the Timeless Child storyline, Davies said "Let's stare that question right in the eye. I'm not going to unwrite my good friend Chris Chibnall's work on The Timeless Children. I'm not going to deny what he wrote. I'm going with it. Its absolutely fine."
Davies also reveals in the in-vision commentary that the Toymaker's remark about turning the Doctor's life into a 'jigsaw puzzle' is a reference to both the Timeless Child and half-human claims about the Doctor's origins, creating some ambiguity as to how much of the Doctor's past is true and how much was fabricated by the Toymaker.
Following the apparent revelation of the Timeless Child, the Toymaker later told the Fourteenth Doctor that he had made a "jigsaw puzzle" out of his history, leaving some ambiguity as to whether the Timeless Child was a genuine part of the Doctor's origins or were brought into existence by the Toymaker.
The One Who Waits was an individual active in the Doctor's universe. Even the Toymaker, an incredibly powerful being with powers akin to a god, dared not challenge the One Who Waits; upon discovering the individual in hiding, the Toymaker ran, deciding that it was a game for someone else. In the end, The One Who Waits became the only individual the Toymaker dared not play any game against. Speaking with the Fourteenth Doctor sometime later, the Toymaker mentioned his decision to flee from the One Who Waits, with whom the Doctor was not familiar.
Well, all I would say...
We could see the One Who Waits in the Doctor Who future, which I would love, well, hope to see the 14th Doctor and 15th Doctor team up in the future to challenge the One Who Waits!
Strength
The Doctor can get a superhuman strength boost during regeneration to become strong enough to knock down a steel door.
The Doctor punched his way through a twenty-foot thick Azbantium wall, a mineral 400 times harder than diamond.
The Doctor can break Lucius Petrus Dextrus' stone arm off.
The Doctor can overpower a Cybermen, who are strong enough to stop a small spaceship with one hand.
Speed
The Doctor has dodged half a dozen disintegration rays while also improvising several thousand calculations in a matter of nanoseconds.
The Doctor can outrun pursing Daleks while simultaneously avoiding their gunstick fire.
Durability
The Doctor has survived X-ray radiation, which increased to over 5000%.
The Doctor is tough enough to survive bolts of lightning that vaporized an ordinary human.
The Doctor has tanked a full strike from a Mondasian Cyberman's laser beam.
The Doctor can survive the fall from the atmosphere to the train.
The Doctor has withstood the Qurunx's destructive blast, which can destroy a planet.
The Fourteenth Doctor and Fifteenth Doctor should team up in the Doctor Who future!
In "The Giggle", after the Toymaker was defeated by the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors and the Toymaker vanished from existence, a hand with red painted nails took the golden tooth, someone's laugh was present at that moment.
So what does this mean?
It means the Master will return, so I hope to see a Multi-Doctor story to see two or three Doctors fight two or three Masters!
I hope to see Matt Smith in it, maybe Jodie Whittaker, also David Tennant, which I hope to see Both Tenth Doctor, Meta-Crisis Doctor and Fourteenth Doctor meet each other!
Maybe see the Eleventh Doctor, Thirteenth Doctor, Fourteenth Doctor and Fifteenth Doctor fight the Saxon Master (John Simm), Missy (Michelle Gomez) and Spy Master (Sacha Dhawan)!
I truly hope to see this really happen!
I want this to be mind-blowing! Just like Journey's End, The Day of the Doctor, and The Giggle was!
One last thing, I hope to see the Eighth Doctor, maybe in a Spin-Off Television Series!
I saw an article saying that the latest episode retconned the timeless child to make it less relevant. It specifically mentioned the Toymaker allowed the Master to play with the Doctor's past. I've watched the special 3 times and can't figure out when exactly the Toymaker explicitly said that.
I was rewatching the giggle again and when I got to the regeneration part I realized something that made me a bit sad…
The last three regenerations have all had the same cause of death.
12: laser from cyberman
13: laser from the master
14: laser from the toymaker
I’m a bit disappointed now because up until this point we only had two occasions where doctors died of similar causes
First, War, 11: old age
3 and 10: radiation poisoning
But these were far enough apart that (excluding war and 11) that it didn’t feel like rehashing. But having three regenerations in a row be caused by lasers feels a bit lazy and generic.
Now that I’ve noticed that I want to hear what others think, I just like when they’d get more creative with the causes of regeneration.
Heres hoping that Ncuti will have a better cause of regeneration
