Companion

Hello,

Given that we've heard a few opinions and ideas as to companions and whether they should be aliens or not, I wonder if a middle ground could work? Namely a companion who is an alien or close to being an alien, but is raised by and among humans/knows human cultures.

Would something like this work? Human almost, to all extents and purposes, except they aren't.

Somebody like Sarah Jane Smith's adopted son Luke, and adopted daughter Sky.

Think about it. He's a genius much cleverer than any human, in some cases more clever than any other individual we've seen. She can control electricity and any device that uses it.

Both of them were created by aliens. Both were adopted by a very special human, and were raised as humans. Both of them seem human to almost all extents and purposes, except they aren't.

What do you reckon? Could they (together) work as companions to our hero? Could the concept of an alien who is human to all extents and purposes work as a companion idea generally?

With the current episode 5 set in Wales(about to watch it) it made think, has there been any companions of the Doctor from Wales? Also with the production set in Cardiff I would think there would be more Welsh actors in the main series. Has there been any talks about future Welsh companions? I just talking about the main show Doctor Who I know Torchwood was set in Cardiff.

By this I mean companions who were unhappy or had a lot of terrifying experiences while travelling with the Doctor.

25- Adam- window in his head. NEXT!

24- Jackson Lake- meh he was alright but great actor

23- Christina De Souza- criminal turned bus driver

22- Craig- Funny but the Cybermen episode kinda brought him down (defeating them with love- really?)

21- Mickey- alright for laughs

20- Karvanista- not much was done with him which is a shame

19- Ryan- terrible character development that even her nan who was dead got more recognition

18- Dan- Disappointing companion but massive supporter of lgbt

17- Missy- Now I know that she’s the master but she as a companion was good in World Enough And Time (how did bbc get away with that word?)

16- Graham- yer doin it mate! Need I say more?

15- Adelaide- She was incredible but her only appearance just brings it down but she other than one showed that the Doctor cannot travel alone

14- Clara- She’s like marmite. Take her or leave her. I’m in the middle

13- Sarah Jane- Showed us the fun and the pain at the same time and her spin-off just made me love her even more

12- Nardole- basically Graham but funnier and his interactions with the Doctor and river just made him good with me. Also Matt lucas

11- Yaz- definitely the most interesting but sparked up the whole will they won’t they and had the ending she deserved. Didn’t like her with Dan tho

10- Wilf- Excellent but deserved more episodes

9- Astrid- she was excellent and she blew my mind and had a good ending

8- Jackie- Tea

7- Rory- he was excellent but didn’t deserved to die so much

6- Rose- She was good with Eccleston but like I said with Yaz her whole “oo true love” thing made me decline with her

5-Jack- his nature and spin-off was brilliant as well as his one liners

4- Martha- Justice for her! I loved the “Doctor with a Doctor duo” but I didn’t like her when she started to appear with Donna for a random reason

3- Amy- definitely one of the most iconic companions of all time and I wanted her to stay during matts run but oh well.

2- River- don’t get why people don’t like her. She is my favourite companion.

Well except for one:

1. Donna Noble- The best companion of all time. Tate nailed this role as plucky Donna and is hands down the best one that I have seen. She is the doctors best mate. She along with Adelaide showed the doctors dark side

Thats my ranking I know some of you are gonna come along with a knife but ITS MY OPINION. So more than happy to hear what you guys think because my thumbs feel like they are gonna drop off. Also are there any companions I missed?

So I’ve done this sort of thing before where you choose a companion to save from elimination or to just be eliminated in general. If u guys like it I’ll continue

The Tenth Doctor!

It was right there for a while between the Fourth and Tenth Doctors, but David Tenant won out in the End.

Eleventh being my favorite, I hoped he would win, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

After this, I’m going to do a Companion Showdown, with all of the Televised Companions (and some Audio Companions). The First part will be Susan vs Ian vs Barbara vs Vicki

If the companions were to end up in a situation where they were to have the Foretold pick them off (like in Mummy on the Orient Express), who do you think would be the first six (the number of people the Foretold went after, from Mrs Pitt to Maisie) companions to become victims of the creature and why? (I think Graham would be first, being a cancer survivor and the eldest human companion. I know Romana was the oldest companion at 125, but the only reason the Foretold attacked the Doctor - who was about 2000 years old - was because it thought he was Maisie, who was it’s latest target.) Also, disclaimer; like with The Hunger Games: Companions’ version, the companions are in the state they were while they were with the Doctor, before they grew old, had weird things happen to their bodies from travelling in the TARDIS and may have gained some PTSD from what they saw during their travels.
