Why is Mr Ring-A-Ding so popular now?

From Youtube videos from creators I'd never expect to upload anything even remotely Doctor Who related to Roblox UGC, I've been seeing this wacky guy everywhere recently... Is this just because he's a popular character within the community, or is it something else?

He has a snazzy design and has been recognised as a Tumblr Sexy Man his fan following has expanded beyond Doctor Who fan circles and Mr. Ring-A-Ding is a well regarded piece of animation.

He also has a fan following from 2D animation fans as well as followers of his animator who also animated “Who Framer Roger Rabbit”.

Because he’s unique. And because let’s be honest, people love hand drawn animation. Him being voiced by Alan Cumming also helps too.
