This is another one I find unremarkable, and have basically no memory of despite having seen it multiple times. The only negative aspects of this story that really stick out in my mind are the hideous interior of the Axon ship, the overuse of CSO and other dodgy visual effects (the shot of the growing frog being one of Doctor Who's very worst effects in my opinion), and the character of Pigbin Josh, who, for a basic, cannon-fodder, "dies horribly so the main villain seems more threatening" character, is given way too much screen-time and is completely ridiculous and over-the-top (Oo-arr?).
I will say though, I would kill to live in the alternate timeline where this story was produced in its original form, as a seven-part Second Doctor story involving a skull-shaped spaceship crash landing in Hyde Park, a shape-shifting alien that looks like a pulsing brain, space battles, and cliffhangers involving the destruction of Battersea Power Station and a giant carrot (I have not made any of this up).
