I love this episode, probably more than I should, but I will say the Minotaur itself leaves a lot to be desired, and I think you could have easily replaced it with any other type of villain and this episode could have been just as good if not better.
This is definitely a favourite of mine from series 6 too. And I think the Minotaur is great—it looks magnificent and obviously far surpasses the Nimon who for some bizarre reason receive a namecheck.
One issue here is one which is common to loads of modern Who, which is that there simply is not enough time allotted for giving a tense build-up. Everything sort of happens at once and that means the hotel itself stops being creepy far too early. I would also question whether Rory really is supposed to have no faith whatsoever, which seems absurd; and why what we see in the rooms are quite so boring. Not even a single spider. I mean, come on.
I hate this ep. It's just so boring.
David Walliams was great I guess as we're the weeping angels but why leave Amy and Rory. The doc never had that problem with Rose or Martha so why do it to the married couple
@SonicTsils I'd completely forgotten they "leave" at the end of this. I remember watching this in 2011 when it first aired, and it didn't occur to me for a second that they were trying to pretend they were actually leaving. I never doubted they'd be back... again... and again.
What do you think?
