And while it isn't deliberate, Hartnell's doddering and utterly meaningless "oh yes, that must be what it is" (???) while walking into the post office tower I never don't find funny. Also, a lot of Holmesisms. Parts of The Talons of Weng-Chiang are genuinely hilarious, and for my money Carnival of Monsters is his other comic masterpiece.

@LauraBatham Lol. If it's any consolation I break out in a cold sweat whenever I so much as picture Soldeed in my head. I might hate The Horns of Nimon, but it has that shoddy Timelash quality to it where in the right frame of mind it could be considered the new Plan 9 from Outer Space.

@FH2104 Yeah It's definitely in that "so bad it's good" category for me. Which is a shame, because I think it could have been genuinely good with some better acting and a few tweaks. The Greek mythology stuff was good and the Nimons' invasion tactic is very workable as a plot point.

@LauraBatham Yeah, I always like it when Doctor Who tries to work with mythology instead of overwhelming it. And some of the plot details—Nimon/Minotaur, Seth/Theseus, Aneth/Athens—make it clear that contrary to what we see on screen, at least one person knew what they were doing. But somewhere in between script and screen virtually everything goes wrong. I'm not sure any version of it would ever have been great, but for sure it could have been better.

One character that always makes me laugh is Mr. Chinn from Claws of Axos. I like the scene where his boss threatens him by telling him “it’s your head on the block,” and then Chinn copies that threat to use against somebody else later.

The cliffhanger in The Sensorites where the Doctor lights a match in a tunnel and then farts.

"What did you think it was, a space helmet for a cow?" (Said by the First Doctor to Steven in episode 1 of THE TIME MEDDLER after they find a Viking helmet.)

I always feel I have to forgive the historical inaccuracy of the horned helmet just for that joke tbh
