I mean, most of it. Starship U.K. I don't like either in theory or execution, and the Smilers are patently absurd. I like Sophie Okenedo a lot though. And the emotional climax perhaps rings a little more true than in a lot of Moffat's episodes.
It’s funny that this episode is an indirect sequel to The End of the World, because they are similar in many ways. An episode with good character development and an impactful emotional ending, but the rest is just meh or silly.
Why was the little boy sent down the bad elevator?!? I literally do not know what the point of that scene was or what it had to do with anything else on the episode. Even if they did explain in the episode, it was not a good enough reason for me to remember or tie into anything else the episode was about.
I just did my research. Timmy was the boy sent down the bad elevator, and he was made a slave for the Star Whale because he got a 0 on his class work.
WHAT?!?
It’s just extremely forgettable.
Recemtly I completely forgot this episode existed and could not for the life of me remember what happened in it
It's just
Talking
Talking
And even more talking
@Dreamleak, how? I thought they'd already established New Earth as a home, making those stories sequels.
@Kevin 'Chalky' Kaiba they are. This just established where the people of Britain went right after the Earth exploded, so it kind of takes place in between those other stories.
Also, the line in how devolution led the Scots to become in essence the Kazon, as a friend likens it. It just...bull.
I loved the message at the end of this episode, but hated that they let the star whale suffer for so long. It didn't make sense to me when it should've been obvious it was there to help in the first place.
What do you think?
