Delgado is the best Master and I don't believe there's any alternative to that. I don't think it should ever have been re-cast, and normally I'm totally open to that sort of thing. He just was the Master, and the character served no purpose after that.

Simm I never liked until series 10, when I thought he was excellent. Sacha is superb. Gomez is of course magnificent, but her (admittedly excellent) redemption arc just doesn't interest me so much. Jacobi virtually only has one scene as the Master but it is boiling with intimidation.

U.N.I.T. Dominion is one of the very few Big Finish stories I absolutely love (admittedly I've only heard it once), and Alex Macqueen was fantastic in that. I'd not be averse to seeing him on screen.

Mestizer (the original female Master)

Delgado will forever be the best Master.

He was the original and just the perfect match for Pertwee’s Doctor.

All the other masters I have some problem with that makes them not as good as Delgado.

Pratt/Beavers: good portrayals, limited by the masks. Beavers Is PHENOMENAL on audio though

Ainley: really good in his early and final appearances, but a bit too campy in the middle

Roberts: ya know the camp I mentioned with Ainley? Multiply that by 100. But I do like him in scenes like the ambulance chase

Jacobi: not enough of him on screen😂 easily the best audio master though

Simm: he’s fun and I love him in series 3 and 10, but the end of time is a bit too much

Gomez(Missy): love her and everything she’s in, but I have a hard time seeing her as the master, she’s more of her own character.

Dahwan: fantastic and crazy, but the writing let him down.

If I went into the other audio masters (Macqueen, Dreyfus, Gatiss, etc…) that would make this far too long😂

@Talon1105 IMO it was the writing that made Dhawan's portrayal so good. There's elements of it in The Timeless Children, but in one single line of The Power of the Doctor—"Don't let me go back to being me"—Chibnall made him one of the most interesting portrayals.

Tied between Simm or Dhawan.

All other masters are great as well

One thing I will say about Gomezs performance is that her character arc is very good but she got overrated and hugley let down by the time s9 came around

Delgado by a huge margin.

I have only watched new Who so far, but Missy is my favorite of the ones I've see.
