I do love Death of the doctor but the series 1 finale was one of the best finales of the whole series

Yes parting of the ways might not be the most climactic finale but just like how Rose only 11 episodes earlier introduced a whole new generation to Doctor who parting of the way is introduced that new generation to the idea of regeneration I cannot imagine what the audience was thinking when Christopher eccleston regenerated into David Tennant
