This Doctor Who Day doesn't just mark the start of our favourite programme. This year it's also the day when we switch over to Fandom's all-new platform, called the UCP. Most wikis have already made the switch, but today is — appropriately — our day to change!
We've been working hard to make sure that the speed bumps are minimal, but it's always possible, with. wiki this long-lived, that we'll have missed something. So please feel free to use this thread to note anything you see amiss.
One thing though — the forum situation is still in a state of flux. So the new solution won't be live at the immediate moment that we switch to the new platform. We've needed to focus on the manual life-boating necessary to preserve the old threads in something like a usable fashion. But there were literally multiple thousands of threads we needed to review — one at a time — and we've only just now finished that process. Although these threads will disappear when we switch to the new platform, don't worry! We've got 'em, and we'll be re-archiving them soon.
Our biggest priority with forums, though, is not with archives, but in making sure you've got a new home for the kind of complicated conversations we usually have around here. So we'll be setting up our new forums within the next few days, since that's what most people are interested in. Then we'll gradually backfill the archives with our older, but still important, conversations.
And of course, we're gonna give the whole joint a facelift in time for the holiday special!
